I want to welcome you to
the East Central Elementary website. I want to thank Ms. Christian, our
Challenge teacher, for helping maintain this web site. These web pages will
provide you with additional information about our school.
East Central Elementary
has a tradition of being one of the top elementary schools in Georgia.
In 2000, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation ranked East Central as the
number one elementary school in northwest Georgia. That same foundation
ranked us 43rd in the state of Georgia that year. During the
2003-2004 school year, we were named an “Effective Practices
School” by the
Georgia Council on Schools. East Central was awarded a 2006 Platinum Award
by the State of Georgia Governor's
Office of Student Achievement for greatest gain meeting and exceeding
standards. East Central has also been a Georgia Title I Distinguished
School for the past six years. East Central was chosen as a 2007 School of Excellence by Kathy Cox, State
School Superintendent. Most
recently East Central was named as a 2008 National Blue Ribbon School. We are proud to say we have a tradition
of excellence!
Let me assure you that
the faculty and staff strive daily to improve our school and instruction.
The combination of hard work and the parents’ help will keep East
Central as one of the top elementary schools in the state.

the school, or visit us, to gain more insight into what makes East Central
