Three Rome High School seniors have been recognized as 2015 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education. Sonora Martinez-Summers, Winston McCormick, and Matthew Nedvin were all recognized by the Georgia Scholar program as seniors who have achieved excellence in school and in the community. “I am so proud of these amazing students as well as every student at Rome High School,” said Principal Dr. J. Tygar Evans. “We have a rigorous curriculum that enables our students to do amazing things.” Sonora Martinez-Summers said, “It’s a great honor to be recognized as a senior scholar and a testament to our school and teachers.”

Georgia Scholars are high school seniors who have carried exemplary course loads and performed at high levels during all four years of high school. They also participated in interscholastic events and performed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools and in their communities.
