Parents of students enrolled in Georgia Public Schools may request to transfer their child to another school within the school district in which they reside, if the district determines there is classroom space available.  


    If the transfer is approved, the parent must assume the responsibility and cost of transportation to and from the school. 


    School begins on Monday, August 3, 2020.  Rome City Schools will accept transfer requests for the 2020-2021 school year from Monday, June 1, 2020, to Thursday, June 18, 2020.  Requests received after close of business, 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 20209, will not be considered.


    In cases where the number of transfer requests exceeds the classroom space available, a random lottery will be held.  Parents will receive notification by telephone or by email by Monday, July 1, 2019.  You will be put on a waiting list if there are not enough openings in the school/grade level that you request and you do not make the lottery pull.  You will be notified if and when a seat becomes available.
