Hello, I am Merrimac Locklear Forsyth. I teach fourth grade Math at Elm Street Elementary. This is my twentieth year at Elm Street; however, I have been teaching for twenty-seven years. I previously taught in Bartow County School System and Nashville/Davidson County School System. I have taught first, second, third and fourth grades.
I received my Bachelor's Degree from Shorter University in Early Childhood Education, my Masters from Trevecca University(TN) in Curriculum Effectiveness, and my Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University(TN) in Adminstration & Supervision. I just completed my Science Endorsement through Kennesaw State University in August 2016.
I have been happily married to my husband, Chef Marty, for twenty-eight years. Chef Marty is the owner of MEF Catering. Together we have two wonderful sons, Daniel and Hunter. Daniel, who graduated from Rome High School, wants to be a vet. Hunter is a junior at Rome High School.
I, along with my family, love animals. We have three bearded dragons (Whip, Roy, and Apollo), a frilled dragon (Frill), two leopard geikos (Ziggy and Pika), two Bald Pythons (Luna and Solaris), two cats (Mamacita and Tabby), two goldfish (Fric and Frac), and our newest baby is a Beagle (Copper).
I am a very happy person; therefore, I try to find the positive in every situation. Attitudes are contagious and I want my attitude to be worth catching. I believe that every child can learn and succeed at anything he/she puts his/her mind to in life. I will be your child's biggest cheerleader at school. I LOVE what I do --- I TEACH!!!
