Hello! My name is Alissa Harper Mitchell. I have been teaching for eleven years. The 2018-2019 school year will be my first year at Elm Street, and I have spent the last ten years at Anna K. Davie Elementary and Southeast Elementary. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Jacksonville State University in Early Childhood, a Master’s Degree from Walden University, and a Specialist Degree from West Georgia. Currently, I am pursuing an Educational Doctorate from Walden University in Early Childhood Education.
I am from Albertville, Alabama, but currently live in Cave Spring, Georgia with my husband (Eric) and our two girls (Kaylee and Malise). Kaylee and Malise both attend Elm Street as well. We love animals and currently have four dogs, two cats, three fish tanks, three horses, two hermit crabs, and a turtle. We also work with foster animals as well.
I am a 2002 Rome Wolves Graduate. I believe in the power of education and empowering students to make a difference in the world. In my classroom, I strive to make a difference even if it is in one child. When entering my class, we don't say can’t because I believe WE CAN and I make sure to motivate my students every day. Please contact me with any questions, concerns or needs.
