Student Ambassadors

Program Description 

Student Ambassadors are a small group of students dedicated to the positive promotion of Rome High School.  They will volunteer to serve as liaisons between the current Rome community and prospective students. 

Student Ambassadors are visible at many campus events geared toward prospective students and families.  Student ambassadors have the unique opportunity to develop and receive training in communication, public relations, marketing, and interpersonal skills. 

Student ambassadors may be asked to volunteer events such as the following:

  • Building Tours

  • Open Houses

  • Middle School Visits

  • Prospective Student Visits

  • Curriculum Nights 

  • Interviews

  • 8th Grade Information Nights

  • Freshman Orientation

Job Description 

Bearing in mind that Student Ambassadors serve as an essential component to Rome High School’s Public Relations effort, several responsibilities are placed on the Student Ambassador:

Responsibilities 

  • Positively represent the RHS student body

  • Act as an ambassador from the student body to prospective students and families at above events

  • Assist in the recruitment of future student ambassadors

Rewards

  • Sharpen communication and public speaking skills

  • Improve interpersonal and conversational skills

  • Enhance confidence when speaking and interacting with many members of the RHS community

  • Develop networking skills through participation at exciting events.

  • Develop leadership skills to use in college and beyond

  • Become eligible for student ambassador scholarships

  • Build college application

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2.35 GPA

  • Completed application (available in the guidance office, turned in before the deadline)

  • Interview with School Counselors and Administrators

  • Strong work ethic and responsibility

  • Good discipline standing

  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude

  • Willingness to develop and improve marketing and communication skills

  • A sincere desire to help RHS and foster the school’s positive reputation

  • Must participate in at least five events on/off campus to stay active.

 Please Note:

To remain an active Student Ambassador, you must attend ALL meetings, actively participate in five events on/off campus, and conduct ALL ambassador actions professionally.
