It is a privilege to serve as principal of this great school. Rome Middle School is 100% committed to serving as a nurturing and challenging educational environment for students in their middle school years. We appreciate and value parent engagement in our school, and look forward to a tremendous school year.
Rome City Schools 2020 vision is an integral part of our school. We want and strive for our students to be critical, creative thinkers and problem solvers, effective communicators and collaborators, financially literate, learn how to persevere, and develop the soft skills essential for success in all facets of life. This vision guides our decision-making at all levels: at the classroom level, in our academic interdisciplinary teams, as well as school-wide climate and culture issues. It's our goal for these characteristics to be seamlessly woven into every aspect of Rome Middle School, providing the best possible climate for learning for every child in our building.
We want our students to follow the “Be RMS” motto. Along with getting better everyday, we expect our students to be respectful, motivated, and safe. Every student will treat adults and students respectfully, dream big, and do the necessary things to be safe. Students must know what we expect of them at all times, and they will. As George Washington Carver stated, “When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.” Students will learn that by doing the little things in life really well, they will achieve great things.
