Rome High School’s Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2026 are set for Saturday, May 23, at Barron Stadium with the procession beginning at 8:45 a.m.
The forecast currently calls for a chance of rain on Saturday. Rome City Schools is monitoring weather conditions and has a weather plan in place to help ensure a safe and memorable ceremony for our graduates and families.
The plan is to hold graduation as scheduled on Saturday morning. If a storm passes through the area, we could implement a weather delay and ask guests to return to their vehicles until conditions clear. We want to ensure that everyone is safe, and we will be actively monitoring weather conditions throughout the ceremony. Updates will be shared through official Rome City Schools social media channels.
If weather conditions prevent graduation from taking place Saturday morning, the following backup times are planned:
• Saturday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at Barron Stadium
• Sunday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at Barron Stadium
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, security screening and seating. Gates at Barron Stadium will open at 7:30 a.m.
For the safety of all guests, metal detectors will be in use at all entry points. Rome City Schools’ clear bag procedures will also be enforced.
We can’t wait to celebrate the Rome High School Class of 2026 and appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to provide a safe and memorable graduation ceremony for our students and families.
