Rome High School senior Bryson Rosales received the prestigious Vincent J. Dooley Award this past weekend, recognizing his outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service.
Rosales has distinguished himself as one of Rome High School’s top student-athletes and scholars throughout his high school career. He graduates as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian with a weighted GPA of 4.768 while excelling in more than 20 Advanced Placement courses, including AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Literature, and AP Biology.
“Bryson’s success is a reflection of his incredible dedication and the support of his family, teachers, coaches, and teammates,” Rome High School Principal Parke Wilkinson said. “He has consistently demonstrated what it means to lead with character, serve others, and pursue excellence in every area of life. We are incredibly proud of him and this outstanding accomplishment.”
In addition to his academic success, Rosales has been a four-year varsity soccer player and team captain for Rome High School. He earned First Team All-Region honors, was named All-Floyd County Second Team, and received multiple Player of the Match and Defensive Player of the Match recognitions during his career. He also competed as a varsity cross country runner and state qualifier.
Rosales has also been heavily involved in leadership and service opportunities throughout the community. He has accumulated nearly 100 hours of community service through mission work, youth soccer camps, school and community events, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes activities. He serves as a leader within the school’s FCA program and has worked at Chick-fil-A since 2024 while balancing his academic and athletic commitments.
“Bryson is exactly the type of student-athlete this award was created to recognize,” Rome High School Athletics Director Chris Boden wrote in the nomination letter. “His leadership, work ethic, character and dedication both in the classroom and on the field are truly remarkable. He represents Rome High School and Rome City Schools at the highest level.”
The Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship Awards honor Georgia high school student-athletes who demonstrate exemplary character, teamwork, leadership, and citizenship. The award is presented annually by Athletes for a Better World in honor of legendary University of Georgia coach Vince Dooley.
