Join us for Grandparents Day at RMS!

🌳❤️RMS Title I & Communities in Schools Rome-Floyd County invites all grandparents to join us for a special celebration! Our theme this year is “Our Roots, Our Legacy, Our Grandparents.”

When: The celebration will be split by grade level and takes place from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM each day

September 9th: 6th Grade
September 10th: 7th Grade
September 11th: 8th Grade

Rome High School’s Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2026 are set for today, Saturday, May 23, at Barron Stadium, with the procession beginning at 8:45 a.m.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking, security screening, and seating. Gates at Barron Stadium will open at 7:30 a.m.

The forecast currently calls for a chance of rain today. Rome City Schools is monitoring weather conditions and has a weather plan in place to help ensure a safe and memorable ceremony for our graduates and families.

Also note, that there will be metal detectors at all entrances and a clear-bag policy is in place.

Because of your generosity and community support, we were able to provide every teacher and paraprofessional with gifts throughout the week to show just how much they are appreciated.

Rome City Schools invites all rising fifth, sixth, and seventh-grade students and their families to tour the new Rome Middle School facility during our upcoming transition meetings. These events are scheduled from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM each evening, with fifth grade visiting on May 5, sixth grade on May 6, and seventh grade on May 7. Each session will begin in the Performing Arts Center with an introductory overview and transition meeting. Following the presentation, families will be assigned a group number and paired with a leader for a guided tour of the building. This will also serve as an opportunity to learn about our commemorative brick program, where you can purchase a personalized brick for the school grounds or your own office to mark this historic milestone. We look forward to seeing you there.
