Rome City Schools Pre-K Program
The Rome City School Pre-Kindergarten program is funded by the GA State Lottery and is governed by Bright from the Start and supplemented by the District. The GA Lottery Pre-K is an age appropriate instructional program that prepares students for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. Additionally, this nurturing environment addresses students’ academic, social and emotional needs while preparing for kindergarten readiness. The goal is to insure that all students gain the needed foundational skills to propel them into a successful future.
GA Lottery Pre-K serves students who turn four years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which the student begins Pre-K.
The following Rome City Schools have Pre-K Programs available for student enrollment.
Anna K. Davie Elementary
Elm Street Elementary
West Central Elementary
West End Elementary
The Pre K lottery operates on a tier system.
Tier 1: Applications for students living in the required attendance zone.
Tier 2: Applications for students living inside all attendance zones in the Rome City Schools.
Tier 3: Applications for students living outside of the Rome City Schools attendance zones.
Tier 1 applications are drawn first. If the initial drawing does not fill the roster of 22 students, Tier 2 applicants will be drawn to fill the remaining slots. If the roster still contains less than 22 students, Tier 3 applicants will be drawn to complete the roster.
