Rome City Schools is pleased to announce that we will be using the Stopfinder app this school year. The app allows parents and guardians to track their children’s school bus in real time.
Stopfinder is free to parents and guardians and allows users to customize when they receive alerts about their children’s bus location. The app is also a two-way communication tool, providing parents with an easy way to communicate quickly with district transportation officials and receive notifications instantly.
The easy-to-use app is secure and only authorized users have access to school bus information.
“We are excited to be rolling out the Stopfinder App for the new school year,” Elander Graham, Rome City Schools Director of Transportation, says. “This is a great tool to help parents and guardians know where their child’s bus is in real time.”
Stopfinder works seamlessly with the district’s routing system so the transportation department can target communications to specific regions that may only be relevant for that area. For example, if a road is closed and a bus will be late, only parents or guardians of students affected by that road closure will be contacted.
Along with real-time notifications showing the location of the bus and the ability to conduct two-way communication, Stopfinder also provides school bus stop and schedule information.
The new Stopfinder App along with the Zonar Bus Pass System is another way Rome City Schools is using technology to help keep our staff and students safe.
