Atrium Health Floyd hosted an Active Shooter Training in 2022. During that training, the hospital says, it was clear the local schools didn’t have enough Stop the Bleed Kits to keep students, teachers, and staff safe in case of an emergency.
"It is crucial for school districts to be prepared in case of a tragic event," Atrium Health Floyd says. Uncontrolled bleeding is the leading cause of preventable death in trauma patients. Tourniquets included in Stop the Bleed Kits quickly and successfully control life-threatening extremity bleeding until medical assistance arrives.
This week, Atrium Health Floyd donated 200 Stop the Bleed Kits to Rome City Schools. Thank so much for thinking of our faculty, staff, and students - and for this generous donation!
