The Rome City Schools Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, for its winter retreat. The retreat will be held at the Sheraton Suites Galleria, 2844 Cobb Pkwy SE, Atlanta, GA 30339, beginning with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Retreat business will begin at 8:30 a.m. The purpose of the meeting is Governance Team and Superintendent training and to conduct the Superintendent’s evaluation.
The Rome City Schools Board of Education will attend the GSBA Annual 2025 Conference on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, through Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center, 2450 Galleria Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30339.

Dr. Eric L. Holland, superintendent of Rome City Schools, is one of 20 school superintendents from across Georgia who have been named to the first cohort of the Georgia Superintendents’ Workforce Leadership Academy, a collaboration between the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and Georgia Power.
The program will build leaders’ abilities to develop and implement strategies enhancing workforce development efforts in their districts and communities by introducing key concepts, trends, programs and approaches. Participants will learn from workforce leaders, collaborate with other superintendents and receive expert coaching.
