ROME GROWN SPOTLIGHT: This week, we honor Rome High School c/o ‘08’s Felippe Sartorato! Felippe is a Plastic Surgery Fellow at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ, where he also completed a five-year General Surgical Residency. Felippe recently relocated to Hoboken, New Jersey from Manhattan. His new home offers a view of Manhattan, as it sits right on the Hudson River.
After completing his Plastic Surgery Fellowship, Felippe looks forward to becoming a board-certified plastic surgeon. He plans to specialize in a combination of reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery within the New York City area, a dream he has had since he was a high schooler at Rome High!

Through this collaboration, he had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in a surgical mission trip to Lusaka, Zambia. During the mission, Felippe performed surgical procedures to address congenital craniofacial defects, such as cleft lips and cleft palates.
Felippe had this to say about the experience, “working alongside my mentor Dr. Silvio Podda, Director of the Plastic and Reconstructive surgery department at my hospital, I saw first-hand how he and his team have been participating year after year in Africa mission trips, earnestly helping to permanently change the lives of hundreds of children.”
