Sometimes you come across a message too beautiful and heartfelt not to share. It couldn't be more clear that Mr. Eugene Rossiter is immensely proud of Rome High School student, Kenny Vasquez. Central Office was so moved by his words, we asked if we could share them with you. He humbly agreed. "I have had the great blessing of being the one-on-one para to Kenny Vasquez. He is a remarkable young man. He is so positive, vibrant and is genuinely loved by so many at RHS. Kenny currently takes intro to Marketing in the CCA, taught by a phenomenal teacher, Leeann Fischer. Ms. Fischer was looking for students to compete in the regional DECA competition. Kenny was interested and initially signed up for sports marketing but a few days later, Ms. Fischer informed the class that she needed some people to do the speech competition. Ms. Fischer asked Kenny if he would consider changing to that, since he likes to talk. He agreed. Kenny wrote his speech with some guidance from me. Kenny then practiced his speech with me, his family, and his group of friends in his first block class. Kenny has a strong work ethic and does not complain. All of his hard work paid off in spades. Kenny went up to Dalton State University with his friends from first block, and won the speech contest. Winning a DECA competition is remarkable to begin with, but a teen with cerebral palsy is even more remarkable. Since Kenny won, he gets to go to the state DECA competition in Atlanta next month, where I am sure Kenny will once again do a remarkable job. I felt like you should all be aware of this fantastic accomplishment by this remarkable teen." Kenny, we are all so proud of you and lucky to call you a member of the Wolfpack. We wish you the best of luck in the DECA competition next month!

Breakfast with Santa at West Central Elementary: Students and families enjoyed breakfast in the school cafeteria, which was decorated using snowflakes made by students during their class STEAM challenges. Santa Kenya took photographs and students made reindeer food for Santa's upcoming visit. In addition, parents were presented with information related to math in the home, and all families left with a grade-appropriate math game to play over the holiday break. Everyone had a wonderful time!
