Rome City Schools: Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)

The Rome City Schools district is committed to providing students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in college, careers, and beyond. Our district-wide CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education) program offers a variety of pathways that allow students to explore their interests, develop valuable skills, and gain real-world experience.

What is CTAE?

CTAE is a state-funded program that provides students with opportunities to learn about different career fields and prepare for high-wage, high-demand jobs. CTAE programs are rigorous and integrate academic standards with technical skills, giving students a competitive edge in the workforce.

Our District-Wide Program

Our district-wide CTAE program offers a variety of courses and programs at all grade levels, starting in elementary school and continuing through high school. These programs introduce students to different career clusters and help them develop essential skills such as:

  • Communication

  • Collaboration

  • Critical thinking

  • Problem-solving

  • Technology

The Rome City Schools College and Career Academy

The Rome City Schools College and Career Academy is housed in a 165,000-square-foot building with 21 classrooms. Our facilities also include a meeting room, a multipurpose area (Black Box), a school store (Wolf Den), a Floyd Medical Clinic, and a student center. We also have a food pantry and clothing boutique for our students, as well as extracurricular facilities to support our students' interests and hobbies.

High School and Middle School Pathways

At both the high school level and middle school, students can choose from a variety of CTAE pathways, each focusing on a specific career cluster. These pathways provide students with in-depth learning experiences and prepare them for college or directly entering the workforce after graduation. See the graphic below to learn more about what our district offers!
